Travelling to new country is always challenging and especially in Europe Poland is confusing. At immigration office Warsaw there are two lines you will encounter on arrival. One offers the services to EU citizens where as other to Non EU. being a Nepali for sure i went to the line of non EU and have to logically prove my travel to Poland and only i got the entry to this country . I have travel to Europe once and UK twice already with lots of other stamps in my document but Poles will not let you enter unless they know about you & properly the reason of your travel.
If you have visited much advance metropolitan in Europe, Poland might not pull your interest apparently as they have no such sky scrapers neither any advance underground even in Warsaw it's capital. But slowly you one can find it as a perfect place to live and visit in Europe. Great polish dish are extremely cheap they are like some standard restaurant price that is in Kathmandu around 2013/14 and it is in central part so one can fly to London or Amsterdam, Munchen or Athens in reasonable fare. Country is well connected with the trains. And development has reached the every corner of the country.
Problem one has to encounter in Poland is to rarely finding the English speaker. Poles like the local language, local brown bread and local own world from music to money ( Zloty) . But if you reach the country side you will find the bunch of villagers learning English to escape from their worlds to fulfill their dream to travel USA or UK for the better life & money.
Vodka is widely drunk all over the country. No one can estimate the power of this powerful Liquor over there. Vodka is the name of fun in Warsaw.
Polish peoples are great as like as Nepali peoples in many terms. Georaphically it is located just in the middle of giant Russia and the modern leading capitalist country like Germany in EU Map. They both are the disaster for Poland if you dig its single page of history colonizing from ancient time by USSR or attacked severally from Hitler control Europe in history and damaged frequently.
Westerplatte is a theatre to read the 2nd world war in various art monuments . If on Sep 1st 1939 German air force had not begun the invasion of Poland by throwing booms in the city, this place now would not be the rich monument place in Poland. There is lots of touching memory standing in this place like memorials to fallen soldiers and some portraits, garden, trees demanding never war again.
I concluded after visit to Westerplatte, we lack to build the monuments to 16 thousand peoples who died in the war between Maoist and Gov before coming in the main line of free politics. If we can make some such art and generate consciousness to peoples that would help to hate war more and fight for peace for the coming generations.
Bloody war has to remember in the form of art. There are also various art from Spain and France describing the war of French revolution or Spanish war. Nepali artist either in play, theater, or paper they have to act , perform or write or draw the war . Palpasa Café is the best example of book written around the Nepalese latest war and life.
in the war of Westerplatte German was equipped with rocket launcher and modern machines' gun where as poles with horse and simple device. But Polish show their bravery as Amar Singh, Bhakti and Bhimsen Thapa , Balbhadra kuwar and many other national figures displayed their real quality of what nationalism is, in the fight with British agent when in history they colonize most of the part of India and attempt to arrive Nepal aggressively in Anglo - Nepali war ( 1814-16) fought between kingdom of Nepal and the British east India company . But were failed by Nepalese people's bravery including women's & children's too. This is the one of the war of proud and the best we can learn how the generations saved our beautiful country and today we are proud to introduce it from birth place of Lord Buddha to Mount Everest( the top of the world) even the heroic figures saved the country from Tibet modern china by signing even a treaty of paying tribute to Peking every five years .
Polish first loosed with the German Army in Westerplatte but the bravery they shows made them they win the war at any cost . Take back their land what they have looses and now it is again a sovereign country with lots of good things all around the country. The economic development of this country is every year more than 5 percent which is quite up in EU's ground reality currently where many are going down like Spain Greece and Italy and other member states are supporting to bring them up.
Gdnask is the beautiful place with a Baltic sea and its cold water. You will rarely encounter sun in Poland and in summer few weeks Gdansk beach is full of poles experiencing the powerful sun. Most popular food in Poland is Kebab. In couple of zloty you will have it and i found it is also the place with less expensive beers in Europe.
Revolutionary Shipyard Gdansk Shipyard also known as Vladimir Lenin Shipyard in Gdansk is another page of history of Poland that you will have to turn eventually. First it is simply a ship yard which produces the ship and sell around the world but later the red letters of solidarity has turn into the history of Poland and whole Eastern Europe to know how communism fail and democracy appeared.
Led by electrician Lech Walesa this was the 1st ship yard across Eastern Europe which introduces as a non communist trade union in Soviet Union territory, this was the actual starting fall of communism in Soviet bloc. Later the workers of shipyard settle a round table talk and the leader of the social movement were made the president.
after all this slowly and other similar political unrest ,Soviet Union was finished with several free country in eastern Europe ending the cold war's of this region and begin of new era .
From here I was thinking to send the postcard to one of the GURU of Maoist supporters in Nepal COM Mohan Biadye to learn some things form history but later I fail to do it .
Poland offers lots of park and forest, rivers and lakes, mountain Tatra is well knows mountain for adventure lover in Poland where you can do the Trekking activities.
If you are travelling to country side like Katowice or Kenjenjin kozle , of other place carry the English polish dictionary to make your easy travel. For the best time June/ Aug is the best time for Poland .
Overall there are lots of things to explore and learn from Poland , it is a country of pride and country where the solidarity was found .
I want to send you an award for most helpful intneert writer.

About Myself :
My name is Nabraj Ghimire but people call me Raj for short. I am a lifelong resident of Nepal and was born in an isolated village in the Annapurna region known as Simpani -9 Khudi Lamjung , famous as the starting point of the Annapurna Circuit Trek. I have always been interested in other cultures and countries this curiosity has led me away from my traditional family farm to Kathmandu where I can meet people from all over the world and learn about other cultures and beliefs. While in Kathmandu, I completed my Masters degree in Humanities and Social Science from Tribhuvan University to learn the history and future trends that shape societies worldwide. As travel has always been my passion, I started working with a local tourism company and was inspired to start my own to help other learn about the real Nepal while learning from the travelers about their home countries. Over the last 10 years, I have worked in the travel industry while specializing in Nepalese cultural retreats and traditional trekking routes. During my off time, I travel whenever I can and have explored over a dozen countries including the mystical kingdom of Bhutan, several countries in the Middle East, Great Britain and the relaxing Greek Isles. Reflecting on everything I have seen and learned, it is my mission to inform the world of all the trips, experiences and news I have gathered from my work and travels and would like to thank you for viewing my blog.
